About the Member
KVS was registered as a society in 2012. There are 13 board members, eight staff members and 12,800 members in the CBO. It was started by the 13 board members for advocacy and to increase visibility on accessibility issues. The CBO works in Chikkaballapur district in six taluks namely Chikkaballapura, Shidahalagatta, Chintamani, Bagepalli, Gudibande, and Gowribidnaur. The CBO focuses on working with people with disabilities. The main areas of work are advocacy, training, Livelihood and crisis intervention.
Trainings majorly focus on disabled women’s health issues, other accessibility issues and advocacy procedures. Livelihood skill development training is also conducted for job placements of disabled people in NGOs, CBOs and other work environments.

Livelihood
Livelihood skill development training is also conducted for job placements of disabled people in NGOs, CBOs and other work environments.
Advocacy
The CBO’s work focuses on community rehabilitation and strengthening advocacy of the disability movement. Advocacy efforts with the government regarding accessibility like wheelchairs, ramps, public toilets etc. are in the works.
Education
It also includes improving accessibility in educational institutions and analysing the usage of budget allocation in schools and other essential places for disabled people. Training majorly focuses on disabled women’s health issues, other accessibility issues and advocacy procedures.
