Hamari Drishti, Gaya
About the Member
Hamari Drishti is a Gaya based federation in Dobhi block, and prioritises women who belong to SC, OBC, and minority categories. Hamari Drishti was envisioned to create a platform where rural women can raise their voices collectively and get an opportunity to take make their voices heard beyond their own villages. The compassion and hope to break the vicious cycle of suffering and struggles around the issues like gender-based violence, lack of access to rights and entitlements and basic services such as primary health care and education as well as income generation were the driving forces to organise these women into village level groups (Sangha-s). Nari Adalat and Ummeed Kendra are two important platforms where the cases related to domestic violence and non- IPC nature are resolved and tuition facility is given to adolescent girls so that they can prepare for their 9th, 10th, and 12th standard exams.
Operational cost: Hamari Drishti is a membership-based federation, and group contributes INR 20 per year as membership fee. Members who get payments from Nirantar (the partner NGO) contributes INR 100 from their income to the federation. Similarly, those who receive payments while engaged in outside works, also contribute. These contributions basically help the federation to meet its operational cost like audit, planning, meetings etc.
