About the Member
The federation is working in 62 villages and sanghas and also has 20 Kishori sanghas with 450 members. The majority of the population of this locality is Muslim and the second-largest group is OBC. Besides that, the Manikanchan Block Mahasangha has now expanded its activities in Rupshi and the Mahamaya blocks, with 30 villages covered in each block. All together there are 95 sanghas under the AGC in Dhubri District.
This federation works on gender-based violence such as domestic violence, child marriage, and any other gender-based discrimination on rights and entitlements. There are 3 Nari Adalats, one in each block to provide direct support to survivors of VAW&G. They are also working on economic self-reliance at both group and individual levels and have started a mixed seasonal vegetable garden at the group level.
